The best life is the examined life

Workshops

In general, an “Art of Living” workshop is a place where I bring people together so that they can reflect on and examine their lives using philosophy, literature, art, and poetry. As moderator, I facilitate this discussion through probing questions and thought provoking exercises with the goal of integrating and applying what we’ve learned about ourselves to our own lives. Some workshops are designed for identifying and exploring the principles and values we want to guide our lives, and others are tailored to specific existential issues that we inevitably face throughout their lives, such as love, family, friendship, work, happiness, loneliness, and death. I agree with Socrates that the unexamined life is not worth living and that we have an obligation as human beings to do this throughout our lives. These workshops provide the intellectual and emotional space to do this.
